I have been working in solar energized vehicles student organization for about 5 moths. We have had entered 2 races since than. After the races we have started to work on new cars for Shell ECO Marathon and World Solar Challange (WSC).
I have just started to write a custom telemetry system for Barracuda X ( which means under devolopment :)). Info about this system is above.
We have started to writing our new telemetry systems monitoring application for Barracuda. It has custom gauges charts wifi connection system (based on windows API's) and notification-error system.
Application will can monitor the current, temprature, voltage and currrent levels with other stuff like braking, regenerative braking.
Currently we have just finished WiFi connection module which will lock on a specific MAC adress and SSID and continuously try to connect on WiFi Ad-Hoc mode. This will prevent the lost data due to connection problems seen on Windows.
We will start to write custom GPS parser module which will accept all NMEA strings also Garmin Strings.
Currently telemetry system's project status is about 10 percent of completion. There is a lot to do and to write Like communication module which will be a seperate thread to prevent data loses due to high CPU usages. It will connect to server (vehicle ) on a specific port and start to gather data from vehichles computer (MOXA ThinkCore W345 / W341).
We will publish all the code as soon as we finish the basic modules.
